Happy Holidays

Our Christmas Party was tonight and everyone looked great, danced and partied hard.  It was nice to see everyone stress free for the first time in 14 weeks.

Yuki, Timothy and I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday where ever you are going to be.

Fall Quarter is Over

We had a our last exam of the quarter this morning.  It was Accounting and everyone (except for the accountants in the group) agreed it was a difficult exam.  But who cares, it's over now ;-)

Now we can relax for a week or so and then start getting ready for the Winter quarter.

I think we've got celebrations every night this week with our big Sloan Christmas party this Friday night.  Then everyone will go their separate ways for the holidays.

Econ Final Over

I think most of the people taking the exam this morning thought it was pretty tough.  Definitely harder than the mid-term and last year's final.  Anyway, it's over.  Two down and one left to go.  Now it's study hard time until Tuesday morning's Accounting final.

Fall Quarter Classes are Over

Today was our last day class for the Fall Quarter and we had some fun.   For Prof. Kasznik in Accounting over half the class dressed up like him and it was extremely funny.  We all really enjoyed his class this quarter eventhough I understood about half of the discussions.  But considering I understood zero at the beginning of the quarter, I made some progress.

In Prof. Moore's modeling class it got a little emotional at the end, some tears and a 5 minute standing ovation (Sally said that was the longest standing O she's ever seen for any prof).  He is the most passionate teacher I've ever had and none of us will ever forget him.  Remember the "solver ant".   And after class we celebrated the end of Fall Quarter with champagne and snacks.

Yesterday we completed our last Econ class with Prof. Flanagan and while economics is a very dry subject we all learned a lot.  Or should I say I think we did.  Tomorrow is the final, so we'll see how we feel tomorrow after the exam.

Finals Week

We've already had one final in Modeling and Data Analysis on Monday and that seemed to go well for most of the class.  Prof. Moore gave us a very fair exam and we thank him for that.  In his class we also had to turn in our big term projects which for most of us had to do with regressions.  key terms to know are adjusted R squared, p-value, t-stat, confidence intervals, fans, snakes, bowls and many more.  The average length of these term papers are 10 pages.  So i'm glad this is done.

This Saturday is our macro economics final.  Today was our last class with Prof. Flanagan.  Now we've got two days of power studying to get ready.

On Sunday night we have a big study session with Prof. Kasznik on Accounting and then his final is on Tuesday morning.  At least for most of us this is our last final.  There are a couple of folks with Wednesday finals.  Too bad for them ;-(

And to finish the Fall Quarter off we'll have a big Holiday Party next Friday evening.  Should be fun.

Sunny Sunday In CA

First off, what a great day yesterday was.  UCLA beat U$C in college football.  GO Bruins!!!   We were able to kill U$C's chance of winning the national championship again and it was the first time we've beaten them in 7 years.

Now it's Sunday, it's sunny and about 70 degrees.  That's the good news.  The bad news is we (Sloans) have been in a study session for the last couple of hours as we prepare for our first final exam tomorrow afternoon.
